FOR FACULTY
Dear Berklee Faculty and Staff
Welcome to the Learning Center.
Even though the LC is primarily for students, there are several ways you can take advantage of it.
Software Training in The Learning Center
Teachers are advised to encourage their students to sign up for these sessions as they will help them create
projects for such classes as Writing Skills, Arranging and Music Tech 111.
The Learning Center can give teachers confirmation of attendance for their students, if desired.
Teachers and staff are also welcome to sign up for any Training Session.
To sign up for any of these training sessions, students and faculty should go to the
Training Sessions Sign Up Page
Ear Training faculty can book a Learning Center Classroom to bring their classes for an Ear Training Software Session.
Teachers can also book a Learning Center Classroom to bring their classes for training sessions given by our staff.
Classroom Reservation:
Faculty can book the Learning Center classrooms if they need to conduct software training sessions not offered
by the Learning Center.
- Sessions should be for hands-on instruction.
- Sessions should be on Learning Center software only.
- The classrooms must be reserved at least one week in advance
- Due to very high usage of our classroom, teachers are encouraged to sign up early in the semester.
- The following information must be provided when booking the classrooms:
- Name of the Class
- Desired date and time, and an alternate date
- Number of students
- Software that will be covered
- If a Work-Study assistant is needed
Assigning Projects to Students to be done in the Learning Center
It is very important that teachers assigning projects to be done in the Learning Center let us know in advance,
so supervisors can clarify any instructions to be given to students and notify all the support staff.
Software in The Learning Center Labs
Because our labs are used by all Berklee students, The Learning Center has software that is widely used around campus.
Any software required for a particular major should be available at that department's computer lab.
Materials and Files on Reserve
- Teachers who want their students to work on a specific file should provide the
file through the campus portal, myberklee.net. Please contact the CTMI for assistance and further information.
- The learning center does not put any (CDs, DVDs, VHS, etc.), or any hardware, on reserve, with the exception
of videos of class concerts for students to copy.
- To put audio or video material on reserve please contact the Media Center (ext. 8685).
- Our staff and work-study personnel are trained to support only the software available in the Learning Center.
- Teachers can recommend software to be considered for future implementation in the Learning Center.
Station Usage
Faculty and staff are welcome to use any Learning Center station, provided it is not during a time of heavy usage.
Note that the CTMI is open for faculty exclusively 24/7.
Teachers should address any issues, suggestions, comments and classroom reservation requests to:
