Interview with Sarah Kovacs of Kraft-Engel Management

Thursday, October 22, 2015 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm
150 Mass Ave, Media Center

Presented by the Women's Film Initiative.

Sarah Kovacs is the newest agent at Kraft-Engel Management, one of the world's leading agencies specializing in representing film, theatre, television, and interactive media composers. She spoke about her day-to-day work as an agent/manager and stressed the importance of staying on top of things, handling time-management for clients, weighing of pros and cons with clients regarding projects, and general tasks that come with helping to guide and shape someone's career.

Sarah also spoke about what it takes for an up and coming composer to get to the point where they are in need of an agent, and the steps that aspiring composers might take to get to that point in their own careers. She mentioned that one of the things most successful composers have in common is that they all, where appropriate, take risks in their musical and orchestrational choices and push the boundaries in a way that makes them stand out.
