By sacred, I refer to my work in religious music as a choir director, pianist, or organist in several denominations, By secular, I refer to my Journey as a solo artist, sideman for American music superstars, and music educator."

Berklee professor Jerry Gates will moderate a panel discussion with European jazz quartet, Poetic Jazz.The discussion will focus on the process of reimagining previously written songs for jazz quartet. In this case the instrumentation is enlarged to add orchestra and what advantages and challenges that presents. Additional topics may include the production of bringing Poetic Jazz Symphonic to venues such as the Berklee Performance Center.

Journey of a Video Game Sound Designer November 16th, 2017 at 150 Mass Ave, Media Center

This presentation will look at various aspects of what it takes to be an audio professional in the game industry. Matteo Stronati '11, Lead Sound Designer at Riot Games, makers of League of Legends, will discuss the skills that are needed to be an effective game audio designer, as well as the roles and responsibilities that game sound designers are called upon to cover in the industry today. Matteo will share excerpts from his experience as a professional and provide tips on how to get into the industry.
